Dear Density512 Community,

After our first collaborative performance of the year – The Björk Songbook with Inversion Ensemble – an audience member remarked to us that Density512 creates “amazing, unique, and inspirational music to heal our minds and hearts… it is totally different music with so much fun and inspiration.” Wow! Touching minds and hearts? Totally different music with so much fun and inspiration? That is what new music is all about! 

To support this work, Density512 is running our Annual Giving Campaign now until the end of the year. Make a gift by December 31 to join us in building a brighter tomorrow for new music and art in Central Texas.

Our 23-24 season holds something for everyone. Our most ambitious project to date, MoonFall, is a mythic fantasy ballet that blurs the boundaries between audience and stage – you will step into a storybook, transported to a fantasy world of dramatic characters, powerful choreography by Dorothy Overbey, and a captivating score by Sam Lipman, featuring the wonderful dancers of Red NightFall Productions. Also in the works this year is a project to record the wind ensemble music of Arnold Rosner with support from the Rosner Estate to be released on the record label Toccata Classics. We’re looking forward to a curated storytelling concert, Meltdown Upshot, from the mind of Nicholas Perry Clark which explores the relationship between mind and self through rock-band-infused “classical” music, poetry, improvisation, and more.

Bolstered by an unprecedented $30,000 in funding from the City of Austin Cultural Arts Division, Density512 continues to build our infrastructure for advancing music and art in Austin. This generous grant in recognition of our impact has provided room for our administrative team to grow to 10 members, all of whom are committed to the business of making art in Austin. With your support, we expect to reach another unprecedented milestone in our organization’s history: leveraging more than $200,000 for art in Austin this fiscal year. Again… wow!

You can support Density512 in our mission to champion contemporary music in Central Texas by making a donation during our Annual Giving Campaign. Every dollar of your support will go towards paying artists and administrative staff, creating imaginative programming for audiences in Central Texas, recording and distributing music by living composers, building our organizational infrastructure, and expanding our capacity to serve our community.
